Milestones: He is pulling up on everything. In my opinion he is a bit over-confident, but I guess that's the only way to learn. There have been several falls due to forgetting to hold on to something or trying to walk somewhere (despite not mastering that skill yet). He is learning to sit down from standing, so that is helping. He has also started crawling some as opposed to his usual scoot. At this point, crawling is much slower, so he usually switches back to scooting. Those are the major milestones I can think of. He has started to mimic us some, which is cute. He will try to make a fish sound by moving his finger between his lips if he sees us do it first.
Eating: Not much progress here. The pediatrician gave us the go-ahead for all table foods, but Shep has shown no interest. We try to offer him things off of our plate at dinner, but it usually just makes him mad. I think we'll be stuck on baby food for a little longer. We went to the allergist this month and got some skin testing done. It looks like Shepherd is allergic to just eggs and wheat. This is good news because he is more likely to outgrow these than a peanut allergy, which we originally thought he had based on the blood test. It's bad news because eggs and wheat are going to be pretty hard to avoid. As far as nursing goes, we are officially weaning. Yay! Hopefully it won't take long. We're hoping to have it done by then end of the month. He's had some formula and didn't mind it, and we have lots of frozen milk stored up.
Sleep: Night-time sleep is good some nights and bad others. He is just getting over (we hope) a month-long ear infection that we ended up getting 3 different antibiotics for. He ended up getting 3 shots of antibiotic at the end of it because the liquid meds weren't cutting it. The shots were super-big and it was not fun to take him 3 days in a row for a shot. Anyways...his sleep was pretty rough throughout the ear infection, but it seems to be getting better. He is a great napper during the day, especially when he's at home. He usually takes 2 2-hour naps a day.
Personality: In a few words: sweet, squirmy and constantly moving, cautious (selectively), dislikes change, dog-loving, easy going. We love our little man. Can't believe we've only got 2 months until he's one!

Mother's Day. Not the best picture, but believe me, many were worse!It was my first "official" Mother's day, although I was pregnant with Shep last year. I have loved being a mom and want to say Happy Mother's/Grandmother's Day to my mother and
mother-in-law, Gigi and Grandma! We love you!
And lastly, a picture of our house. This 1100 sq foot baby will hopefully be on the market by the end of the month. It has served us well, but with the addition of Shep, space is getting tight. If you want a head start on the masses, let me know and we might just work out a deal!
